Sin City (INCREDIBLY GOOD MOVIE)
Current mood: excited

Before the movie started they played a series of trailers with scary movies and one was the “The Skeleton Key” I think that is what it was called and I got really involved in the trailer. The guy behind me moved and I yelped. He scared the shit out of me! The theater was dark and there weren’t many people in there, the trailer is really creepy.

Okay, now for "Sin City"
1. Runtime: 126 min I have stated that I refuse to watch a movie that is over 90 minutes that doesn’t have Hobbits in it, well this is an exception. This is a very good movie that held my interest and it didn’t seem to be 2 hours long. Not because Elijah Wood  is in it. *pssst Come closer and let me whisper this in your ear.* "He isn't a real Hobbit he is an actor." When I say a movie with Hobbits, I mean a movie where Elijah Wood and the others are  Playing Hobbits, there is a difference.
2. I couldn’t figure out why Elijah Wood was wearing what appeared to be red cloth Converse sneakers at the ORC. It was a puzzle, the movie solved the puzzle.
3. My son was thoroughly creeped out by Elijah Wood in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and said that he would never be able to see LOTR without thinking Frodo was a “panty stealing weirdo", well after he sees “Sin City” he won’t be able to watch LOTR at all. Elijah Wood has that weirdo thing locked up! Now he is going to think that Frodo is a “panty stealing weirdo cannibal” and before any of you ask. I still don’t particularly like Elijah Wood as a person, but he has incredible range as an actor, he isn’t just a pretty face like some actors.  Not only is he incredibly beautiful, he is very, very talented. Don’t seem fair, do it?

There are very minor spoilers in this report so if you don't like spoilers leave now!
I am so excited I don’t know whether to talk about the graphics or the story line first.
The graphics, STELLAR, AMAZING I can’t think of enough adjectives to describe them. You are watching a comic book. It is black and white and grey scale with color masking, exactly how it would be in a graphic novel. This is one of those times when I wish I had the technical vocabulary to express myself.
The movie is in segments that seem unrelated, but are all the same story line from a different persons perspectives. I really don’t like Bruce Willis, but he was so good in the movie that when he died I cried. It is a roller coaster ride of a movie. The only problem I had with it was the graphic violence. I have to admit I spent lots of time with my hands over my face, I get too involved in movies and that stuff freaks me out.

I WANT TO BE MIHO WHEN I GROW UP!!! She so totally kicks ass!

The humor is so dark and it is stuff that you know you really shouldn’t laugh at. After one guy kills everyone in sight, he says that if he doesn’t take his meds he will turn into a “psyco killer”. News flash, the meds weren’t working.

For the men there are several tit shots and several gratuitous ass shots. In fact the first one is so very gratuitous, I started laughing. It was framed exactly the way that a comic book square would be printed. Unfortunately, there is no gratuitous male nudity. When is Hollywood going to start valuing women for the perverts that we are?

This is a full fledged geek alert here, when I see numbers in a movie I look them up to see if there is any significance. The combination to opening the door for patient zero in Jeremiah was the authors birthday. That took about a friggin hour to find on the net.
These are the numbers I will obsess over from SC.

The cops badge number is 1067 TC/IP port reference? Too obscure huh?
9586
AIW 610
Tomorrow I will obsess, right now I am going to clean up the kitchen.
