FLIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD

NEW LINE HOME VIDEO TAKES YOU ON A WILD, FUN RIDE IN "FLIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD: OUTBREAK ON A PLANE"
by Suzanne Philips

On a flight to Paris, passengers find themselves in the middle of a zombie invasion, and only a few survive to fight off those who have turned and try to land the plane before it's too late.

FLIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD is a crazy, fun film. A kind of throwback to the disaster films of the 1970's, there is horror to be found, but also a ton of humor. The film stars Kristen Kerr (BLACK DAHLIA, INLAND EMPIRE), Mieko Hillman (THE REPLACEMENTS, PARADISE HILLS), David Chisum (TV’s ONE LIFE TO LIVE), and Heidi Marnhout (TV’s ENTOURAGE) and is directed by Scott Thomas (YESTERDAY’S DREAMS, LATIN DRAGON. At a recent Los Angeles screening, director Scott Thomas and star Kristen Kerr took questions and spoke about the making of the film.

Scott Thomas said that the genesis of the film was the thought that "an airplane was an interesting place to make a film", and the idea grew from there. It took 2 years from the inception to the first day of shooting. Thomas said that he thinks that "horror with comedy is the way to go. In a plane it would have been too hard to make a straight horror film. " Additionally, the film was shot in the United States and not overseas, which is often the trend in Hollywood.

Kevin Kasha, VP of Acquisitions and Marketing at New Line Home Video believes that FLIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD is a perfect fit for New Line. "New Line is the house that Freddy Krueger built" says Kasha, and this film fits in well with that genre. "We feel it is a sort of companion piece to SNAKES ON A PLANE".

FLIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD - OUTBREAK ON A PLANE is an enjoyable yell-at-the-screen type horror/comedy. Check it out for yourself when it hits video stores on October 2nd, 2007.
